Better Walkability in Tulsa
Walkability in Tulsa is bad. There aren’t sidewalks in many neighborhoods, or the sidewalks are is poor shape.
For me, this annoying. I’m able to walk around, and I’m okay walking in streets. I’d rather not, but I can.
However, for people with mobility disabilities, like blind people, this inhibits their ability to get around. Walking in the street is dangerous for them, and they are effectively limited to the small area which are walkable without assistance from someone else.
Tulsa voted on this a couple of years ago, and the rich NIMBYs in midtown got it blocked after it passed.
